In the recent years, with the evidence-based reports, we have had the new wave guidelines for the management of individual risk factors are provided by JNC VI, ESCP II, BHS III, WHO/ISH 1999, CANADA 2000, ANAES 2000, ADM 2001, ATP III. etc ... However, the assessment about affection of these guidelines on clinical practice is still being a question. In contribute to the related survey, we studied this paper with the aims were, first, to determine the coexisting cardiovascular risk factors with hypertension according to the new WHO/ISH guidelines and, second, to assess the application of these guidelines in clinical practice at Khanh Hoa hospital in Vietnam.
